I agree with you Simon that we shouldn't resize dialogs. The issue I have is that I didn't find a way to insert the scroll window object inside a window object. If I replace the dialog object by a window object and call vbox.pack_start() function then it throws an error. What would be the solution to display a scrolled window which I could minimize/maximize etc...
