This is what you need to do (small mistakes might be here, I am doing this from memory) # checkout gnome version of pygtk git clone url/of/gnome/pygtk cd pygtk # add my repository git remote add john git://github.com/nzjrs/pygtk.git git fetch john # create a branch for you to work in.
