the point of my question is: where is GLADE_CATALOG_PATH documented? what is
GLADE_ENV_CATALOG_PATH for?

I got it now: in GLADE_CATALOG_PATH any file with extension .xml is looked
for to get a catalog. If found the catalog can have any name but the
import script need to have the same name and needs to be in the path so that
it can be imported directly.
