I don't claim to be an expert on PyGObject, just a user, and I think the differences lay partly in the fact that gnome-sudoku is a game, while SmartTE is not. If you or anyone else has suggestions, though, I'm more than happy to hear them. I'm still a student, and I'm still learning myself. :)
