Although the 1.0 documentation says that the hidden imports problem for PyQt is included in that release, this does not appear to be the case. It looks as though it was merged into the "trunk", but does not appear in the 1.0 release. There is no hooks-qt.py module in the release, for example.
Should I use the development version rather than Version 1.0?
And by the way, your diff links on http://pyinstaller.hpcf.upr.edu/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/wiki/McMillanInstallerPatches do not resolve to URLs that can be displayed.
