Hi, tables is the name used to import the PyTables package. This is why I changed the original subject of the thread to "problem with PyTables package..." . Unfortunately it seems the change has been lost. You can have complete info about PyTables in www.pytables.org. In few words it is a package for dealing with large datasets. It is built on top of HDF5 library.
