The releases are simply very old. They might work with you or not, I don't
know. The development versions have many fixed bugs and definitely are
progression over the releases. The only reason why I don't release new
versions is that I'm lazy and it takes time to coordinate a release.
Anyway, I should eventually get 1.4 out of the door.

So: my suggestion is to use the development version (which I use in
production). But if you want to give it a go to 1.3, be my guest.
