You you sure this is still required? When looking at
http://www.pyinstaller.org/browser/trunk/PyInstaller/mf.py#L607 I get
the impression, that the hook for a.b.c is called indepentently of the
parent modules.
I just tested this: these empty files are no necessary. If nobody
protests, I'll remove them.
