Hi,
I'm happy to announce that we moved our software repository to git.
Our git repository is currently at github.
* https://github.com/pyinstaller/pyinstaller
Our main branches are:
*branch master*
We consider origin/master to be the main branch where the source
code of HEAD always reflects a production-ready state.
*branch develop*
We consider origin/develop to be the main branch where the source
code of HEAD always reflects a state with the latest delivered
development changes for the next release. Some would call this the
"integration branch". This is where any automatic nightly builds are
built from.
We also decided to be more concrete about our development workflow which
is basically the same as Vincent Driessen described
<http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model/> in this
blog.Please read Development/WorkflowBranchingMergingTagging
<http://www.pyinstaller.org/wiki/Development/WorkflowBranchingMergingTagging>
and Development/CommitMessages
<http://www.pyinstaller.org/wiki/Development/CommitMessages>.
Migration was quite some effort as we cleaned up the repository. If you
are interested in what we've done, you may have a look at
<http://www.pyinstaller.org/wiki/Development/DVCSMigrationCleanup>. I'll
write down some "lessons learned" next time and announce here for those
who are interested.
