Hey all, Tried out pyinstaller last night and compared it against bbfreeze and even using things like Cython to compile to C.
I like what pyinstaller has to offer and it works as expected. One thing I noticed however is that it could do with some level of optimization. By hand I could cut down the size from 3.3M to 1.2M by simply bundling in a single directory and cutting out bits and pieces that aren't needed for a simple "Hello World!". I also found that UPX made no different to the resulting size. I would like to see if I can get this any smaller and ideally as a single executable file (using -F). Currently however even with manual tweaks I'm not able to bundle it as a single file. Ideas? cheers James -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "PyInstaller" group.
