Hi everyone, I'd like to provide some information about reporting bugs and about migrating to github.
We would like to move PyInstaller bug reports from Trac to Github. We temporary disabled creating new bugs on Trac A few weeks ago me and Giovanni were testing and tunning the migration script. One main requirement was to preserve the bug IDs. It looked like it should be possible to have at Github same bug IDs as in Trac. When we were almost ready to do the real migration, we found out that it is not possible to preserve bug report IDs. The issue is with pull request. Github pull request IDs are in the same series as bug report IDs. There is about 150 pull request on github so the first ticket we would migrate to github would have ID #151. But commit messages still reference the original bug ID. This is where we are now stuck with the migration: - creating new bug reports in Trac is disabled - we are not able properly migrate bug reports to github I would like to ask the community: Do you have any suggestion what to do next?
