Found this resource on the Cython Wiki site very useful - 
https://github.com/cython/cython/wiki/CythonExtensionsOnWindows.

Further, for Anaconda 64-bit + Windows 64-bit (7 and 8) + PyInstaller 2.x, 
the "Using Windows SDK C/C++ compiler (older method)" option worked.

The "Using Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler for Python" didn't work for 64-bit.

This just leaves one problem ie. 4/ hook-pygments.py not found
