remember there's two variants: pythonwebkit and hulahop. pythonwebkit compiles easily enough, and there _is_ debian packaging for it (i created it). phil endeavoured to get the debian packaging up-to-date before new year, but he's a little distracted because his wife's baby is due. hulahop is a little trickier: we're going to have to wait for python-xpcom to be properly updated. the fundamentals of xpcom were changed, and python-xpcom was relegated to "third party status" some years ago: it's surprised the hell out of the mozilla foundation developers that it's at all functioned with no maintenance for so long. todd whiteman successfully updated it to work with the xulrunner engine that's used in firefox 4.0 - it just hasn't been packaged up conveniently yet. so if you want to have a go at either, the pieces are all there. l.
