luke this does need to be fixed -- once in place it will start redirecting immediately. there isn't any traffic to be saved (?) because 301 redirects are cached aggressively by both recursive DNS servers and local machines. if you want to save bandwidth, campaign for people to not email 20 raw photos at 1MiB+ each ... after 10yrs of trying to convince people, i don't even bother myself anymore ;-) ... besides `human time` > `pretty much any other concern` ... Gustaf already mentioned he has placed links using the `www` variant, and i have in the past too, this is a fundamental expectation of the web -- i've called out many a n00b over the years when i find site that do not implement this correctly ... i've even emailed people more than once to inform them in good faith. to be honest, in my own practices, i purposely *do not use* the naked URL and *always redirect to a subdomain* because the domain itself is required to be an A-record, while a host/subdomain can be a CNAME, and this requirement limits architecture flexibility, and network layout. -- C Anthony
