Yeah REST is misunderstood :-)

It's main focus is discoverability -- explorable services.  A consumer
should be able to learn the methods/endpoints without any out-of-band data
(eg. like an API doc).

It doesn't actually dictate a specific URL or payload structure; its just a
presentation style.
