As I already stated, there *are* valid and desirable reasons to use a HOST
name for a HOST.  Try to setup Appengine without www or similar.  There is
nothing legacy about it.

What you're doing is not "leading by example".  It's not leading.  A leader
cultivates more leaders.  This is wanton disregard of reality, because no
one gives a shit about www or not, and changes nothing.

In fact, you've only succeeded at indirectly disrespecting and deterring
many capable contributors. I can look at the list database and several
prominent names are no longer listening.

Please be a leader by acknowledging the competence and request of your
peers.  If we cannot achieve something as simple and trivial as this, I
personally will shift gears and erect an alternative location for the users
of this platform.
