Hi all,

I have noticed that we now have a "donation button" on the pyjs.org
website right below the main Pyjamas logo. We also have this button in
the header of the bookreader (Pyjamas book). I have wondered how well
this converts to money for the project, and as I found the huge button
a little disturbing (from the time I first saw it), I thought about
alternatives:

We have circumstances that lead to error pages on the web server
(Error 404, etc.). We can naturally increase the occurence of such
events by adding a wildcard DNS record (*.pyjs.org) and redirect all
traffic to an artificial "404 fun page" (i.e. everything that doesn't
use the official URL http://pyjs.org will land there), and then add
some $$ ads $$ there. Such a page can be used to explain why there is
no "www" preceeded DNS entry (we saw discussions about that a few days
ago), could be a funny joke page (e.g.
http://www.stammhirnrinde.de/405.htm), etc., and landers on that page
would be forced to either _click_ on the ads (!) or _type_ "pyjs.org"
correctly in the browser's address bar.

This may generate more financial contribution than all the donation
buttons scattered over the pyjs.org website.

Any opinions?
Peter

P.S.: There are changes on the website (progress bar) and Pyjamas Book
(Pyjamas logo linking back to site) in the repository, but not online
yet. Can anyone with appropriate rights run the upload script?
(Thanks!)
