Correct, pull request. Fork the whole project, and add a new example. If you want to be nice, make the build process download the external libraries that are needed automatically (the examples "canvasprocessing", "employeeadmin", "timesheet" use a --downloads-yes parameter), but it's probably fine for the beginning that you document this in the example's README.
