So, I'm finally in a position to try the damn thing out.

SuSE 9.3

Numpy, wxPython, and pygame from the SuSE supplied RPM collection.

Sound Choice Weird Al disc ripped (successfully, if slowly), by cdgrip
on the internal CD-ROM drive of this Armada M700 laptop:

-rw-r--r--   1 jra users 1664928 2005-11-09 20:37 track01.cdg
-rw-r--r--   1 jra users 3701445 2005-11-09 20:34 track01.mp3
-rw-r--r--   1 jra users 1595040 2005-11-09 20:47 track02.cdg
-rw-r--r--   1 jra users 3546382 2005-11-09 20:44 track02.mp3
 ===

But, when I try to play it, either directly or through the UI, it pops
the display window, then hangs with an error:

 ===
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/cdg> ../pykaraoke-0.3.1/pycdg.py track01.mp3
Exception in thread Thread-1:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/threading.py", line 442, in __bootstrap
    self.run()
  File "../pykaraoke-0.3.1/pycdg.py", line 400, in run
    pygame.mixer.music.load(self.SoundFileName)
error: Module format not recognized
 ===

Not being sure, I tried playing the .cdg file as the argument as well.

I get the same error from the thread when it runs under the GUI.

Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong? :-)

Cheers,
