Greetings, I have recently install PyKaraoke on FC5 after a few trial
and tribulations with the distro I downloaded the source and installed the
developer versions of the prerequisites and all is working perfectly. I ripped a couple of Karaoke DVDs which I have as a test and
imported the resulting mpeg files into the PyKaraoke database. These played
without any issues, however, the files were named “80s Hits-Vol000.mpg”,
“80s Hits-Vol001.mpg” etc. So I thought I’d use the
titles.txt feature of PyKaraoke. This worked OK and allowed me to search by Track
and Artist but the GUI still uses the track name as its primary column e.g. search
for “Wham” and you get back “80s Hits-Vol000.mpg”
(obviously if you scroll across the list you can see the track and artist. OK after much preamble then the questions….
Having no answer I then renamed the individual files to the
Track name e.g. mv 80s Hits-Vol000.mpg Don’t\ You\ Want\ Me Now when I search for Wham I see two entries in the list for
each track. I’m guessing the search matches on both the filename and the
track name from the titles. So question the second is:-
Any help you be most appreciated before I go too much
further ripping my Karaoke DVD and CD/Gs. Regards Paul King |
