For my part, I have good intentions of downloading and testing the beta versions, but time always slips away before I am able to get to it. One problem is that it is rather painstaking to make sure that all of the seperate pieces (Qt, Sip, Python, PyQt) all match while you are trying to build them. I haven't come up with a good process there. If the build process recognized that the versions were mismatched and stopped that would probably help, but I don't know if that is a practical thing to do. It would certainly help the volume on the mailling list though, as a large percentage of the volume on the list is people discovering the hard way that this matters.
