Thanks for the detailed reply, Climbus. I didn't try 0.8 but from reading past docs, it seems like a lot of good choices went into 0.9.
I've been playing with a number of frameworks over the 6-8 months (Django, TG, and RoR). To me, Pylons has the right feel - not too heavy handed with goodies where I want them and only when I need them. I'm glad to hear about the production performance (even without mod_python).
