Hi,
the pylucene-extra project started some time ago with the goal to provide
pre-built PyLucene and JCC eggs on several OS/Python/Java combos [1].

In fact we collected 32 eggs since June 2011 - including versions for Windows
and Mac OSX. Now that Google announced their EOL support for Downloads in
Google Code projects [2]mit's time to think about the future of the
pylucene-extra project.

So before I start to move files and setup a new home for pylucene-extras let me
ask you, the PyLucene users (well developers that use the library), if there is
still interest in such a project. The download numbers in the Google Code
project site indicate at least some interest, but some "human" feedback is
certainly more valuable.

Finally the question is if there's anyone else interested to contribute. We
started with a bunch of enthusiasts who wanted to contribute eggs for different
platforms, but currently I'm the only one who provides eggs - and only for
Windows. I must admit however that building PyLucene on Linux or MacOSX is not
a big deal anymore - windows is another story of course.

So, pleas raise you hands if you want to see the pylucene-extra project survive
and think it's still useful.
Also let us know if you want to contribute. Looking forward to your feedback!

Regards,
Thomas
