Good question, it seems not to be a big problem generally, and since I filed
this pycharm has a new (still beta) debugger which does not seem to have same
issue. So the practical problem is likely to be less of an issue going forward.
However, it could be a quite good use case to be able to select this at JVM
start if possible without performance penalty on the "high performant mode". I
can see some use cases (like my scientific library wrapping) where there is a
group of users that are likely unaware of threads and it would be experienced
as more stable if this was default turned on (in that particular wrapper) by
default.
