Indeed -- however, my program actually uses the snowball analyzer, so I really do need to keep track of it this way. For the test case that duplicates this leak, I've found that the problem also occurs with the StopAnalyzer, and I was trying to make the sample case as simple as possible, so I chose it over the snowball analyzer.
But, that wouldn't solve the Reader leak :)
I don't see anything wrong in the code snippet you sent.
I guess the PythonReader c++/java class in cpp/PythonIO.cpp needs to be checked out for leaks. Looking....
