Oops, sorry. I use latest PyLycene version available - 0.9.7 (binary distribution) with the following versions of dynamicaly linked libraries:

So, you're using somewhat of a Frankenstein configuration here. The binaries are compiled against Python 2.4. Running them against Python 2.3 is likely to cause trouble. Copying gcj from FC3 to rh9 is probably not that good either.

Also, when running in mod_python, how are the threads PyLucene is running in initialized ? If they are not instances of PythonThread, that is, if they are not initialized by libgcj, then things are going to crash really fast.

One more thing: please subscribe to the [email protected] mailing list so that other people can chime in and benefit from your experience instead of contacting me directly. Thanks.

Andi..

$ ldd /usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/_PyLucene.so |awk '{print $3}' | xargs rpm -qf
libgcj-3.4.2-6.fc3
glibc-2.3.2-11.9
libgcc-3.4.2-6.fc3
glibc-2.3.2-11.9
glibc-2.3.2-11.9
glibc-2.3.2-11.9
zlib-1.1.4-8
glibc-2.3.2-11.9

It's linux Redhat 9 with gcj installed from FC3.
