I have been following the thread on problems with PyLucene and cherrypy on which several issues and possible solutions were posted.
Rune had written in at that time that he had tweaked the Cherrypy wsgi server to use pylucene.pythonthread instead of threading.thread. I tried this technique out but my python process itself exits after a couple of searches. I don't know for definite if it is caused by threading issues.
The error message that I get when the python process exits is as follows :
"Fatal Error in GC : Collecting from unknown thread."
, which suggests to me it is a threading issue.
If it is possible could someone confirm whether my assumption is correct.
Also, if someone has tackled this issue could they post some response on possible approaches.
My final resort is to use an XML-RPC based mechanism for providing a search service to the Cherrypy frontend. But it seems to be a convoluted approach and thus this post.
Regards and thanks in advance,
Deepak
