Thanks a lot for support. I finally compiled and installed Pylucene,
and started to test it with threading test:
$ python test_PyLuceneThread.py

File "/usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/PyLucene.py", line 4, in ?
import _PyLucene
ImportError: /usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/_PyLucene.so:
Undefined symbol "libiconv_close"
Any hints? I think libiconv-1.9.2 is installed...
