We're using rather a lot of lucene at work, and so (being a sysadmin),
I've created some pylucene packages for debian sarge (which is currently
deployed to all of our main servers) - the package can be picked up
from:
        deb http://www.sommitrealweird.co.uk/debian/ sarge pylucene

This is pylucene 2.0, and is compiled for both python2.3 and python2.4,
some of the examples don't work in 2.3 (the one that uses subprocess,
for example), but other wise this seems to work.

I've also got PyLucene compiled on current debian unstable, I'll be
creating packages for that in the near future using the new python
policy, so look out for those!

src packages are also available if you want to see how I did it, they're
at:
        deb-src http://www.sommitrealweird.co.uk/debian/ sarge pylucene

Hope that people find this useful, I should have the packages for
etch/unstable available sometime during the next few days!

Thanks,
