Hi! I was pointed at the pylucene wiki thread recently. I know there's not a consensus yet, but representing OSAF IT, I can offer with little hassle, a wiki area on the existing wiki.osafoundation.org site. The default configuration is "must be registered to edit" and "confirm account creation via email" (no captcha).

We track down spammers when we see them, and there's built-in anti-spam code that seems to be working quite well these days. But Andi is right that wiki's do tend to work better if there's one or more people who take on maintenance duties by default. You can get an email or RSS notice of all changes, so it can at least be pretty easy to stay informed of changes.

While we could create another wiki instance, there's admin benefits for us to only have the one instance. The look-and-feel for a new area (left nav, colors, etc) can be customized through the wiki itself; hopefully that's a nice balance for the pylucene community.

I'm happy to answer questions or take on the setup if the community decides to proceed. Thanks!

Thank you for the offer, Jared.

I do want Walter Wiki, the wiki gardener, to step forward first and commit to maintaining this PyLucene wiki for the foreseeable future for this to happen.

If no one volunteers, we'd be wasting your time.

Andi..
