I've been loosing sleep trying to get PyLucene going on my G3 iMac running Ubuntu 6.06. I've tried compiling with 3.4.4, 3.4.6, and the 4.0.3 that ships with the OS. I've gotten furthest with 4.0.3, but I hit this after a while:

No cni.h file is going to be in the way of a lot of things. CNI is the interface that makes Java look like C++ to C++ and makes PyLucene possible.

Given that you're on a pretty exotic platform, you should definitely ask [EMAIL PROTECTED] about your chances of getting a sane GCJ on a G3 running Linux.
