After some experiments I found out that the easiest thing for CentOS 5 is just to use svn trunk (r338). trunk compiles cleanly and the included test suite run flawlessly.
I created a rpm which has the following features: - can be built for i386 and x86_64 on CentOS 5 - does not need any additional packages from 3rd parties (no proprietary software, no Sun Java) - packaged samples in separate doc package - debuginfo rpm with additional debugging symbols - rpm meets the strict Fedora RPM packaging guidelines (hopefully) You may download the rpms at: http://www.schwarz.eu/opensource/rpm/PyLucene/ fs
