I've just checked out pylucene.

What OS are you on ?
Which JDK are you using to build Java Lucene ?

Thanks for helping me.
I am using GenToo Linux + gcc-4.2.2 + glibc-2.7

I'm using sun-jdk-1.6.0.03 (in GenToo terms)
I think the orignal tar file was
jdk-6u3-dlj-linux-i586.bin

Your build seems to be failing while Java is building Java Lucene.
This is not a PyLucene issue. You need to be sure that you're indeed running the JDK you think you are. Some Linux distros default to gcj.
For example, what does java --version say ? javac --version ?
On Ubuntu, for example, one has to run update-java-alternatives to get the java they installed to actually be used by default. I don't have access to gentoo at the moment, so I can't reproduce the problem.

Andi..
