That was a nice roundup.
And our experience is as well, that the JCC based PyLucene works more
smothely than the GJC based one. And if the lucene engine is used as a
component of a server-like system (especially thereaded webservers), the
installation 'issues' are pretty irrelevant versus the gained stability.
I would say, that in the PyLucene case, the relative quiteness on the
mailing-list is more due to the 'ease of use' of the current
implementation :).
