So, I basically ran out of options. And as far as I can see the 10.5 eggs (
again, a gem if things would work out of the box ).
Any suggestions ( better yet, working eggs ;') would be much appreciated.

Did you edit the Makefile as stated in the INSTALL file and at the top of
the Makefile ?
