I'd suggest using quicktime pro. I have both adobe premiere & qtpro and found
that qtpro did a superior job with much less hassle. qtpro can produce the
sorenson encoded (mac friendly) as well as the avi format (pc&powerpoint
friendly). There is also a free package out there called rad video (google it),
but the extra editting functions available with qtpro are well worth the $30
(you can combine movies by cut,paste, insert...).
The settings for qtpro movies to be played in a pc powerpoint presentation are:
export to avi, quality best. Done.
