Mike,

This may be the first public mention I've made of this, but recent betas
include an experimental "mview" command than can be used to perform the same
kind of interpolation as the scene transitions.  Here is an example script:

load $TUT/1hpv.pdb
as ribbon
show sticks, organic
util.cbc elem c

mset 1 x600

reset
turn x,180
orient
mview store, 1

turn y,180
mview store, 120
mview store, 150

turn y,180
mview store, 240
mview store, 270

orient organic
mview store, 360
mview store, 400

reset
turn x,180
orient
mview store, 570

mview interpolate

rewind
mplay

Note that you will need a recent beta version to do this:
