I can confirm the following: Running Pymol0.99 on a 4xPPC/OSX 10.4.8 with QuadroFX graphics card. One DVI port of the Quadro is plugged into an Apple-supplied DVI-VGA converter. The Eye3D VGA sync adapter is plugged into that and the USB power tail is plugged into a spare USB port.
I am using the Eye3D Premium LCD glasses with a Dell p1130 CRT monitor (which can do 130 KHz horizontal sync) at 1280x960. As noted above, this setup uses the VGA adapter rather than a sync signal from the Quadro FX sync port. No problem in running pymol, can turn on stereo and the quad-buffering. I can get the monitor to change mode (looks like the display breaks up into interlaced lines), but true stereo does not come on. When the transmitter mode light is blinking green, the glasses are clear. When the light is clicked to red, I can detect flicker on the screen, but there is no 3D effect. When the light is solid green, the screen looks like it might be in stereo, but it looks like the image is split horizontally and offset - left eye sees the top of the image, right eye sees the bottom and the 'swap eyes' button reverses them. Further, in the X11 version of the app, the stereo works perfectly (when the light has been clicked to red) - very nicely. I Are there known fixes for this operation or does it suggest that I've mis-configured something? I've installed no driver software, relying on the sync signal from the VGA-out. -- Harry Mangalam - Research comput...@nacs, E2148, Engineering Gateway, UC Irvine 92697 949 824 0084(o), 949 285 4487(c) harry.manga...@uci.edu
