Hello,

Can PyMOL give me the direction of an helix ?
Let's say I have two pdb files of 2 conformations of the same protein, and some helices are moving between the two. I want to measure the angle between their axes in conformation #1 and #2. I could go for assuming the helix is an ellipsoid, calculate the first eigen vector of the helix inertia matrix... but I guess extracting the axis of the cylindrical helices as displayed by PyMOL would do as well.

I've tried to look up in documentation but did not manage to find out how to do this.

Thanks a lot,

Hugues
