Hi Per, set ray_volume, 1
We disabled this feature because it wasn't of high enough quality to be used. Once we fix this, we'll change PyMOL to automatically ray trace the volumes. Until then, you can try the trick I noted above. If you feel like sharing I'd love to see what you came up with.
