Festive Greetings, etc etc ;-)

Sai informed us on the Imprudence forums that there may be room for
commonality in the external plugin systems of the PyOGP client and the
Imprudence viewer:

If we are both seeking an efficient, flexible and language-agnostic
method of linking external plugins to SL clients via a socket
interface, then it probably makes sense to knock a few ideas around in
case a really good one emerges to the benefit of all.

In the best case scenario, it may even be possible to have a common
plugin interface. Should that come to pass, the ramifications could
be amazing, since PyOGP would gain all the power of user scripting
without language or community barriers, and Imprudence would gain
early access to any new protocol developments as well as a thorough
test framework.

While that's a wonderfully appealing vision, it's not in Imprudence's
charter to proceed cautiously and prudently (:-), so if you think
there is fertile common ground to explore, I suggest that we do it
now. ;-)

Morgaine.
