Sorry, I didn't mean to reject, but to put emphasis on the workflow when
the patch has a more convient form for our scm its much more easy to
work with and to attribute it.
I think we should encourage contributors to use tools that help the core
developers/reviewers whenever possible.

I don't think I would reject such a patch from these grounds; at least
it *is* a patch, easily usable with "patch", and not, say, entire
files that have been modified from some unknown revision, as we got
too.
