Thanks - my first reaction is to think I need a KApplication instantiated to do anything at all, so I didn't think of just trying the interpreter (doh!). I realized after replying last night that I *had* seen a similar problem with KFile.isSortByName in the little bit of unit testing I do have in place, but I postponed tracking down the cause. It appears to be a sip error also, and I've notified Phil. Jim _______________________________________________ PyKDE mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mats.imk.fraunhofer.de/mailman/listinfo/pykde
