Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between the two? I had been using the python executable, but did just try the the pythonw and things seem to work for tut2.py. However, some of the examples don't work properly when using the pythonw binary...like richtext.py.

Are you using the pythonw executable or the python executable?
