Thanks for that Phil,
My question was more on the technical aspect but the last part of your answer is interesting as well.
I was pretty sure that it was a manual process and I can believe it takes so much of your time. Actually I was interestd in using sip in other port but I realised it was really a manua ltool and for toolkit as big as Qt it is really a long processs. I'm quite impressed of your patience.
Anyhow, the day you sill start the port of Qt4 let us know, we will be pleased to help.

I'm not sure what you mean by the business process to create PyQt.
If you mean the technical process of developing then it's been a very manual process so far. I intend to change that process for Qt 4 and learn from Jim and PyKDE.
If you mean the business process of funding the development of PyQt then it's pretty much as I was implying. Most people probably don't realise, but the main activity of Riverbank is porting Linux to embedded devices, Linux device drivers, etc. Other income comes from PyQt and PyQt-related bespoke development.

I understand your point.
I wish you'll find a company to sponsor you in such a job.
Just in order to let me know if helping you is doable.
What in a few lines the business process to create a tool suc as PyQt ?
To give me an idea if I could help.
Thanks - Sylvain

Hi guys,
Since the first snapshot of Qt4 has been release yesterday, I was wondering if a PyQT4 would be written in a near future ?
No. I never support anything other than production releases of Qt. Also it is likely to be a lot of work.
It could go like the SIP v4 development - very slowly as I fit it into available time.
Or like the PyQt for Qt v3 development - relatively quickly because somebody paid for it (Disney in that case).
