I'm able to compile PySide on snow leopard without any patches, the onle thing 
I do is to set the same install prefix for all packages (using -
DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=myinstallprefix)

But the patch about add extra quotes to GENERATOR_EXTRA_FLAGS still valid.

You can run cmake in verbose mode to see what commands were executed exporting 
the VERBOSE variable, e.g.

$ VERBOSE=1 make
