I have to admit I fell for the same issue for a second when testing the examples after reading your previous mail. One option would be to just make a CLI example out of it. Then again, the current example has the benefit of having the signal automatically emitted, which, I believe is the most common scenario in Qt.

I would hesitate adding any widget resizing code to the example, though, since that's unrelated to the actual behaviour the example attempts to illustrate.

As an excuse here is a tit bit of personal information - in some three
and half months I will be 86 years old. I play chess on the net (FICS)
and I program Python to satisfy myself that my short term memory loss
has not rendered me useless. Alas, clearly my attention to detail is not
what it used to be...

I only wish I'd be doing programming, or anything similarly advanced, for that matter, at your age! Welcome to the community!
