This sounds like you're not yet using 1.0.0 beta1. There were a lot of
QML-related bugs fixed between 0.4.2 and beta1, and this sounds like
one. If you're using the PPA packages, you have to wait a few days until
Didier gets the beta1 PySide packages out. (I think this release has
been more difficult than usual for him because we broke the ABI, the
build system has its issues, etc.)
