Thank you for sharing your opinion. I still think it could have been potentially useful to have a method to modify the object ownership on the Python side - there's a method to test for the ownership in the draft, why not to modify it, then? Of course, if this is not feasible due to internal implementation issues, that's a different matter altogether.
