Just for curiosity: what are the current status and the future plans for PyTables in connection with the new NumPy?
After more than one year of intense work with an annoying mixture of numarray&Numeric, I would really love to do a complete switch to NumPy as soon as possible. Doing manual conversions outside of PyTables works fine as a momentary workaround, but it still leaves me with the situation that every time I forget a conversion, I end up with a numarray instance that behaves slightly different from a NumPy array. I would happily accept a slightly buggy beta-version of PyTables that "mostly" works with NumPy and help in the final debugging. Currently, however, the numpy-tests of the Pytables-snapshot fail so heavily that I would not even know where to start debugging.
